lyrics
Appeared like a flash in spring
I couldn‘t get a hold of you
With swift feet, like a fearie of summer
You slipped through the bonds of my affection
Withered leaves are falling, winter is calling
Gone forever – the secrets that i do not know
Gone forever – expectations were too high
Your eyes are gazing at the wilderness
Burnt Offerings
Running through immaculate hands
Red fingernails clawing for the dust
Burnt Offerings
Violent winds take the ashes to the sea
Will you remember me?
A last kiss in a bleak wintry night
All golden visions overcast
Whispered words – like a litany of death
Gone forever – the secrets that i do not know
Gone forever – expectations were too high
Your eyes are gazing at the wilderness
Burnt Offerings
Running through immaculate hands
Red fingernails clawing for the dust
Burnt Offerings
Violent winds take the ashes to the sea
Will you remember me?
All hope put to an end, nothing left to defend
The flowers of spring will bloom again
But we won‘t meet again

Yet another album I’m addicted to. This is definitely one of my favorite NWOTHM releases. It reminds me of being a teenager and discovering Iron Maiden. Love the sci-fi themes. Sludge Mouf

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
